Korimako FM axia Installation
In September Streamcom installed New Zealands first Axia system for New Plymouth based broadcaster, Te Reo Irirangi o Te Korimako.

Facing a delay of 6 to 8 weeks before their studios were completed and a deadline to vacate their old building Korimako decided to temporarily install their new Axia system rather than shift the old analogue equipment.

The temporary onair and production rooms were setup in a matter of hours, with more time spent on relocating the STL transmitters and mounting the new mast than cabling and installing the studios.  The simplified installation of Axia meant that korimako was relocated in a day, and with more features and functionality than was available in thier old studio.

Axia Training
Igor Zukina and Simon Jackson attended a three day training session at Axia Audio's offices in Cleveland.  Axia is a new evolution in digital audio, mixing, routing and control that is gaining momentum in the radio broadcast industry.  Replacing traditional mixing desks and offering unprecedented levels of control, Axia utilises audio over Ethernet to greatly simplify cabling and installation while also providing control previously available only in much more expensive systems.

NAB April 2006
Simon Jackson and Darryl Jellyman attended the 2006 NAB conference in Las Vegas.  This years major focus was on alternative media delivery to consumers.  The Web, cellular devices and Pod casting were all high on peoples agendas.
